Geographic Region Characteristics:

Labeling Rivers on a Map:
Columbia and Colorado: The two "Cs" hang out on the west coast. Columbia has an "a" at the end and Colorado has an "o" at the end of the word. A comes before O in the alphabet, so Columbia is the one on top and Colorado is the lower one.
Rio Grande: Means Big River in Spanish. This river borders Mexico where Spanish is the official language.
Mississippi: This is the longest river and also has the most letters of the six rivers we talk about.
Missouri: This river connects to it's buddy the Mississippi. The two "M&Ms" always hangout together.
Ohio: This is the only one left and runs along the border of the state of Ohio.
Explorers:
1. Cabot took a cab to eastern Canada
2. Sally in the Valley (La Salle claimed the Mississippi River Valley)
3. Coronado by the Colorado
4. Champlain had a pain in his neck which rhymes with Quebec
